You're invited to sign up for classes through our website.  First consult the schedule to find the musical play classes designed for your child's age group.  The schedule will also list the price for each series of classes.  Then email us with the starting date and time of the class.  We will quickly confirm your registration for the class.  Payment can be done by credit card on the phone.

Part Five - Grounding

Creative play teaches self-regulation and conflict resolution.

  It stimulates the imagination and models a healthy way to

 release tension.  The introduction of a more meditative

 portion of the program helps to maximize the benefits of

 creative play by providing grounding.

One attribute of a truly classic children's song is

 peacefulness.  For younger children, both TWINKLE,

 TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR and BA, BA, BLACK SHEEP contain

 this grounding power.  For slightly older children, THIS

 LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE has the same quality and effect.

 Other like songs are ROW YOUR BOAT, KUMBAYA, and

 some of the nursery rhymes put to music.  

 

It may be the melodies or the words, repeated like mantras

 through the centuries, that tend to ground us, and lull us into a

 more relaxed, peaceful state. I like to introduce some of

 these songs in each session as an avenue to relaxation and

 closure.
