Laura Schwemm, Head
Children’s Librarian, He has performed in the summer and the fall, but the time of year did not matter, everyone comes out for him. A beautiful summer day? Everyone takes time out to attend Robert the Guitar Guy's programs. All of the programs were for preschoolers, and the children and the caregivers were completely engaged during the hour Robert the Guitar Guy was performing. Robert played wonderful songs that the children loved and they responded enthusiastically to his prompts for movement: jumping, dancing, and clapping. Robert's enthusiasm and the children's happiness is contagious: adults clap and tap along with the music. I would not hesitate to recommend Robert the Guitar Guy for a preschool program at any library. 2007 He has
continued to delight our large audiences of children and adults with
his voice, his guitar, and his personality. His command of his material and his obvious love for music had a
wonderful effect on the audience. When the show was over we heard the
kids commenting on how much fun they had and the parents giving their
voice of approval with nothing but positive comments about the show.
You involve the children totally in the make believe you create.
Your guitar work is exquisite!
Rosemary Rasmussen, Head Children’s Librarian, White Plains, NY Robert also performs for the 5 – 12 age range: At our end-of-summer program he entertained a packed house of 160 children and parents. His sense of humor and comic props elicited laughter and appreciation. The strongest element of Robert's show for us was his success in having abundant audience participation - including parents. As one nine-year-old said, "It was a great show!" Chris Piatelli, Librarian, Shrub Oak, NY Most compelling for the kids was Robert’s ability to get them to
participate in the story, they would always be involved. They
found him very humorous and entertaining. He is a warm and wonderful
entertainer, who is able to charm any child. Caryn Campbell and
