Classes are typically 30 minutes long. Classes include age-appropriate musical play incorporating rhythm, tonality, movement, humor, role-playing and props. The children sing, and use both small motor skills such as hand clapping and patting as well as large motor skills such as walking and marching. The emphasis is on synchronizing movement to a beat, which improves attention, concentration, motor skills and academic performance. Plus, challenging musical games teach the intricacies of beat and rhythm. But above all, the classes are a lot of fun for both children and caregivers.
I offer a playful, developmentally appropriate, non-performance-oriented musical experience that is immediately accessible and welcomes the child’s participation. Musicianship, language education, togetherness, and wonder are also goals of our program. Additional benefits include improved focus, concentration and comprehension.
